Faculty Position in the Engineering Design Division (EDD)

At Binghamton University (SUNY)

 

The Engineering Design Division (EDD) within the Thomas J. Watson School
of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University (The State
University of New York at Binghamton) invites applications for a faculty
member in the area of undergraduate engineering education.

EDD is the first-year program common to all engineering undergraduate
students at Binghamton University. The position is for a non tenure
track Visiting Associate Professor. The candidate is expected to assume
leadership for the EDD program. In addition to being responsible for
administering the Engineering Design Division, the candidate's primary
duties will be in curriculum innovation and development, and in teaching
associated with two major courses: Exploring Engineering and Engineering
Communications. The candidate must have an earned doctorate in one of
the undergraduate engineering, or related, disciplines offered at the
Watson School (Bioengineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Mechanical
Engineering). The candidate should have demonstrated superb leadership
skills. Demonstrated teaching excellence in large undergraduate
engineering classes is expected and industry-based engineering
experience is desired. An excellent record of research funding and
publications, particularly with respect to undergraduate education, is a
definite plus.
