Applications are invited for a tenure eligible position at the Assistant Professor level, expected to be available in Fall 2010.  Candidates are required to have a background in Reliability, a PhD in industrial engineering or other allied field (by Fall 2010) with at least one degree from an ABET accredited institution.  Candidates must also have effective written and communication skills,  a record of scholarly achievement,  familiarity with writing proposals for competitive funding and background to teach and establish a research focus in at least one of the following areas: system reliability, maintainability or risk analysis. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.  The candidate will be expected to publish scholarly works, advise undergraduate and graduate (including PhD level) students, secure and conduct externally funded research, and develop industry-based research and support one or more of the College of Engineering's research thrust areas: bioengineering (especially in device reliability), composites and nanotechnology, sustainability (in modeling of  wind turbine reliability and green energy hardware components) and networks (e.g. in reliability of communication networks and hardware reliability).



A commitment to diversity and the ability to work with a diverse population are required.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching and industry experience and ability to teach other industrial engineering courses.
