UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
FACULTY POSITION
The department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant, associate or full professor level to begin August 2010. We welcome applications from individuals with strong backgrounds that hold a doctorate in any ISE-relevant discipline, including industrial engineering, operations research, or a closely related field. It is desirable that the applicant would have at least one degree in engineering.
Faculty members are expected to contribute to research and educational programs at all levels, including directing a research program, supervising graduate students, and teaching courses. Research areas of particular emphasis in the department include optimization theory and methods, stochastic methods, supply chain management, transportation, risk management and financial engineering, statistical analysis, manufacturing operations, energy management, and health systems. Candidates with research interests in stochastic analysis and/or statistical methodologies are especially encouraged to apply, as are those with application interests in energy management and health systems. More information about the department is available on the ISE web page at http://www.ise.ufl.edu.
A number of faculty members from the department will be at the INFORMS meeting in San Diego, and we welcome the opportunity to meet with interested and qualified candidates. If you are interested in possibly scheduling a time to discuss opportunities at the INFORMS meeting, please contact Joe Geunes (geunes at ise.ufl.edu<mailto:geunes at ise.ufl.edu>) with a list of time slots during which you would be available to meet.
Applicants must submit their application online through the following webpage: http://www.ise.ufl.edu/personnelsearch/. To ensure full consideration, applications should be submitted by December 1, 2009, when the Search Committee will begin reviewing applications. Applications received after this date may be considered at the discretion of the Search Committee.
As part of the application process, applicants are invited to complete an online confidential and voluntary self-disclosure card referencing position number 00009489. This information is used as a means of recording or tracking candidate applications and is accessible to the university's Faculty Development Office when needed to fulfill reporting obligations. A self-disclosure card can be found at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/job/datacard.htm.
The University of Florida is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action institution. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
