The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (M&IE) invites
applications and nominations for a tenure-track position in Industrial
Engineering at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
The M&IE Department offers ABET accredited BS degrees in Industrial
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
Technology. Graduate offerings include MS degrees in Industrial &
Management Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in
Engineering with options in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. The
Department is strong in the traditional areas of each discipline, with
substantial laboratory facilities supporting instructional and research
missions. Undergraduate and graduate courses in the core areas of
production systems (including facilities design and inventory control),
ergonomics/human factors, operations research/simulation, management
engineering, and applied statistics/quality control comprise the
curriculum in Industrial Engineering. The M&IE Department also has
strong affiliations with the Center for Biofilm Engineering, the Energy
Institute, the Western Transportation Institute, and the Montana
Manufacturing Extension Center, among others.
Montana State University is located in the majestic Rocky Mountains of
Southwestern Montana, situated between Yellowstone and Glacier National
Parks. MSU is a Carnegie Category 1 (very high research) university, one
