SUMMER 2008
NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program in
Automotive Manufacturing Systems

The Auburn University’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering will host a NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program in Automotive Manufacturing Systems during the summer of 2008. Recent significant growth in the automotive industry in the Southeast, particularly in Alabama, has created a unique opportunity for research in applied industrial and systems engineering. While there are many multidisciplinary research opportunities, this REU Site at Auburn University focuses on automotive research related to manufacturing systems such as optimization, computer simulation, occupational safety, ergonomics, lean manufacturing, and supply chain management.
