Assistant Professor

The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of
Louisville (UofL) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty
appointment at the Assistant Professor rank. The ideal candidate will
have expertise in human factors, ergonomics, occupational biomechanics,
computational biomechanics or a related field. Candidates are expected
to have demonstrated ability to conduct research at the highest level,
and to exhibit promise for outstanding teaching of students. Excellent
communication skills are highly desirable. Successful applicants will
have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or related field and strong
educational background as well as research interests in human factors.
Anticipated start date is July 1, 2008.
Responsibilities associated with this position include teaching
undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising the research of graduate
students at the masters and doctoral levels, conducting independent
scholarly research, publishing in respected peer reviewed journals, and
acquiring external funding to support the research effort. U of L
Faculty also have opportunities to teach overseas in our international
programs.
