2007 INFORMS Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium

If you are interested in:
·        Opportunities to learn from the best about teaching in OR/MS,
·        Augmenting your teaching skills, 
·        Engaging in research on scholarship of teaching and learning,
Networking with other OR/MS professors and exchanging ideas
then come to the:
2007 INFORMS Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium (TEC)
to be held on November 2-3, 2007, in Seattle, Washington, before the Annual Meeting. 
The focus of the colloquium will be to present strategies for effective teaching and improving student learning in OR/MS.  In the colloquium, you will: 
Learn about strategies and research for engaging students in the classroom, and extending learning outside the classroom, 
Get practical tips for implementation of pedagogical strategies in OR/MS courses, 
Share your ideas about research on scholarship of teaching and learning in OR/MS.
 The program includes the following speakers and panelists: 
Dr. Jane Ammons (Georgia Tech), 
Dr. Cynthia Atman (University of Washington 
Dr. Jeffrey Camm (University of Cincinnati), 
Dr. James Cochran (Louisiana Tech), 
Dr. Donna Llewellyn (Georgia Tech), and 
Dr. Stephen Powell (Dartmouth)
 
Participation in the Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium is by nomination only.  All faculty members and advanced doctoral students intending to pursue a career in academia are invited to participate in the Colloquium. The registration fee is $250.  The fee is waived for the first student nominee from a department (the department is billed $125 for the second student and the full $250 amount thereafter).  All attendees must register separately for the INFORMS 2007 Conference in addition to the colloquia registration.
