[Bme-student] CBS Service Opportunities

Hey everyone!

This year we are going to try and do more hands on community service, so
please let me know what ideas you like!

 

Clemson Community Care -- needs canned food!  they also need volunteers for
the following areas:  food pantry, home repair program, clerical support,
and yard work.  CCC also sponsors the CROP walk (Oct. 12th).  if there is
interest, i can contact them about that also.

 

Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen (Seneca, SC) - they feed around 100 people a
day AT LUNCH and always is looking for volunteers and donations.
*disclaimer:  this is a "faith-based" soup kitchen, so you do not have to
volunteer if you are not comfortable with that*

 

Helping Hands - they take in children from bad family situations and house
them temporarily.  Helping Hands has a thrift shop in Central and always is
looking for donations (clothes, shoes, electronics, etc..) and volunteers.

 

Solid Green - Solid Green day is Nov 19th.  help clean up campus and get a
free t-shirt!

  

Clemson Child Development Center - needs volunteers to help with a Murder
Mystery Dinner fundraiser (setup/serving dinner and drinks/cleanup).  setup
on Oct. 23rd and the dinner on Oct. 24th.

Please let me know if you are interested in any of these or have other ideas
for service!
