<div>The Department of Performing Arts is producing THE NICETIES by Eleanor Burgess. The play is a timely discussion about the power dynamics of race and academia in the 21st century. Tenured history professor Janine sees herself as a progressive Hillary Clinton
supporter who fought in a male-dominated field to secure her position at an ivy league institution successfully. Zoe, a millennial African American junior, is the voice of a new generation that prioritizes racial and social justice over the status quo. She
is a woman who demands change and will not wait until people are more comfortable. The heated debate centers around Zoe's paper on the impact of slavery on the American Revolution. The masks come off, and the two women say what they really think about America
and their place in it.<br>
