[Bgs-list] Did they do the right thing?

My first thought is exactly what they said at the end of the article. It
was their responsibility to vet a person before handing him/her/they a
microphone. That part was their fault. He was a former SNL writer, and
pushing the envelop is what they do for a living. They should have never
brought him without discussion on the event and atmosphere. Not vetting the
speaker and then blaming him for it is like going on a blind date and then
complaining that the date should have taken you to your favorite
