Hi MLK Day of Service Sub-committee!

I wanted to reach out to remind all of us to especially promote sign ups for MLK Day of Service this week.  We are way under on volunteers and this is usually our best week for sign-ups—but we all need to pitch in!  Please forward or announce at any and all student groups this week.  I think word of mouth is going to be our best bet at this point so help us spread the word!  Below is a brief write-up (I know, it's not very catchy but it's what I have!) with the details to share.

Also—I did not hear from everyone regarding our sub-committee meeting but time is of the essence.  Let's go ahead and meet on Tuesday, January 15 from 2-3 pm.  We will meet in 309 Edwards Hall conference room.  It will be a good time to have updates and make sure we are ready to go! Kristin

Registration now open to volunteers for the MLK Day of Service: Volunteers will serve on various projects on campus and around the community from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.  New this year are selected sites with a full day options from 8 a.m. Until 1:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. There is a volunteer opportunity to fit everyone:  helping the less fortunate at the local soup kitchen or through Anderson Interfaith Ministries;  working with animals who are homeless; spending time with the elderly or building a ramp for a disabled community member who cannot afford the home repairs themselves; helping children in the Upstate in transition or stocking shelves at the local food pantry.  Students can even choose to stay on campus to help clean up or build a trail at the SC Botanical Gardens.  Transportation to sites off campus will be provided. If you would like to sign up as a group, simply log in separately (you must use your Clemson ID/login) and sign up for the same site as space is available.  Registration is now open.
