BG's it's the third Wednesday of the month so it's time for us to meet
and eat. Today you have two choices both involve celebrating Black
History! Choice A) Support Black business by dining at Smitty's Grill
on Hwy 93 near Southern Wesleyan University. We had a great time there
two weeks ago with several new faces at the table. Lunch will be at
noon. Choice B) Join me the great list keeper as I endeavor to
enlighten the minds of students, staff, faculty and friends at Tri
County Technical college in Pendleton on Hwy 76 as you go towards
Anderson. I will be presenting my multimedia experience "Black History
Before and beyond the Dream" from 1:20 until 2:20 this afternoon.
Special incentive for my Alpha's in the group I put Dr. King on the
poster. Some of you retired guys are lucky enough you can do both.
Either way it is a great way to connect with each other as well as
celebrate our rich heritage. The event at Tri County Tech is free and
open to the public and will be held in the Marshall J. Parker
Auditorium on their campus. One other announcement. Yours truly was
selected as an Upstate Black History Maker by WJMZ 107.3 FM and will
be acknowledged as such with a radio spotlight airing throughout the
day on Sunday February 19, 2011. I am also featured on their website
with 27 other recipients. If you get a chance check your boy out!!!!
As always please reply to "all" so we will know how many to expect,
also state which event you will be attending today.
